If your intrigued about these versatile, fun and easy to tie flies, then come join us for this one day class!!! We will be covering all the basics from tube fly construction, material selection and how to build the most effective patterns for local waters. Some of the patterns being tied will include sculpins, crayfish, hoppers, leeches, streamers and more. The class will have discussions along the way of tube systems, tools and rigging of each of the patterns tied. Every student will receive 3 plus hours of detailed instruction on the topics listed below with the class culminating in a Q&A session and a swim tank demo of each students flies.

  • Materials and how to choose them based on action
  • Assembly and tying steps
  • Rigging
  • Hooks to use by brand/style

 

 

Each student will be provided with a materials packet

  • Tubing in 1.8 mm & 3.0 mm
  • Cones/disks/weights
  • Tube needle
  • Materials

Students are required to provide

  • Fly tying vise
  • Basic tools
  • Lighter
  • Uni thread 8/0 – olive, rusty brown, camel & black
